AI generated text. What about it?
I am retired. I donโ€™t know anything about writing or AI. I am writing a historical survey nonfiction book using AI to keep my mind functioning by learning. What is the prevailing opinion of AI generated text? My guess is that in the next release of AI models there will be no way to tell that an article or book is human or AI written. How do you use AI? I have been using it it create my detailed outline with the plan for doing my own writing from that. When I generate narrative from it I like what it generates. (Remember. I said I am not a trained writer.) i think I still have a lot to learn. I assume there are a lot of books on Amazon now that were AI generated with no follow up editing. Do you use AI to generate your text then edit all the AI-ismโ€™s? I am glad I am retired and not planning to make a career of writing. I remember a curse that went something like โ€œMay you live in interesting times.โ€ I think AI is about to give us some interesting times! I would love to hear what you think. Eddie

The book I am writing is just for โ€œfunโ€ to organize my thoughts. No intention of publishing it except for close family. I still feel guilty when I let the AI generate and the AI checkers says it is 100% AI generated. It just feels like cheating. Do you not use AI for generating the text or spend the time rewriting it so it does not get tagged AI? Eddie
