California swell was epic!
Merry Christmas board brothers and sisters! We were blessed with a major swell in California for this season! I took great advantage of this opportunity! Although I am a beginner, and I have no business surfing 10+ ft waves, it pulled me out of my comfort zone. I ventured off to other beaches with reefs that could handle the large waves, and it was so worth it. I caught a lot of white wash waves, they were packed with power behind them. I got a ton of paddling in, and I practiced reading the waves and watching seasoned surfers. If you are learning, just know their are no bad days. You can benefit greatly by just putting in the time and watching your environment. If you fail, fail forward. Meaning: taking risks, embracing wipeouts, is all beneficial to the learning process. God bless 🤙🏽

Motorcycles!
Consistency is key
I've been doing much better on my pop up and catching waves. My local beach break is very unforgiving, it gets big, and closes out quickly. So I've been venturing off to softer breaks. I had a lot of success at beacons on Monday. It was very special to me because I was in company of like 60 dolphins. It was magical! They surfed the waves, swam around me, and we're friendly yet curious. I have been averaging at least 2 - 4 waves a hour, and I usually stay in the water for 2 hours. I also have stepped up my days, where i was consistent with 2 days a week, now im doing 3 to 4 days. The Aipa Big Brother Stinger has helped me greatly because it's so buoyant. Cheers!

Welcome board braddahs and sistahs!
How to choose your surf board !
The main thing you wanna keep in mind is : You wanna flotte ! The more you flotte / the more you will catch waves or white wash will feel like a wave Bigger boards don’t mean your a bad surfer, and it brings more fun to your journey, ✅ They are great to learn : - Back and front foot pressure - Catching your own waves - Paddling fast - Accelerate while paddling - And balance laying down ❌if you struggle with the things above, maybe you need a bigger board

How to choose your surf board !

I ca testify to this. I started on a 7'6" and immediately knew it was too small. So I found a 8' odysea. I was still struggling. I eventually found a 8'8" southbay board with much more volume. It was only then I started standing up, and paddling faster. But it wasn't until I switch to my Aipa I saw drastic improvement. It's volume is 91.31.. and i was amazed at the buoyancy of it. Unlike the traditional poly board I have, where I notice it doesnt sink, but it didn't have that same float because it's very thin. The epoxy is an entire different animal. I immediately noticed my arms no longer dragged when I paddled. I noticed I was faster, and sitting on top of the water. I never wanted to blame my boards, but IT WAS THE BOARD holding back my progress. I have experience reading waves, but I just couldn't paddle fast enough to catch the peak and ride a lip. So I stuck to the white wash which loses power fast. Although I was getting good practice with my pop up, I just wasn't catching a ride. All of this changed once I got on that Aipa Big Brother Stinger.. It's all about the board...
