Hello, my name is Derek Bergen, I am a professional MMA fighter and grappling competitor from BC Canada. I’ve been grappling on and off since 2019 (consistently since 2022) and I am a BJJ purple belt. My 3 short term wrestling goals are: 1) to learn better entries for my take downs, and how to get to the legs more consistently. 2) to become more confident in take downs that don’t involve an arm drag and/or body lock 3) chaining take downs together more fluidly. My long term goals for wrestling are: 1) to have longevity in the sport and prevent career ending injuries 2) to get more into a coaching roll and eventually open my own gym 3) to get into a big grappling show 2 short term life goals I have currently are: 1) to be more present at home with my kids 2) to get better sleep 2 long term life goals I have are: 1) to raise my kids into good people 2) to be financially stable and able to provide for my wife and kids
