My name is Kenneth, I’m from Quezon City, Philippines, and I've been editing for 4 years. I’m currently making about $1,000 per month from video editing, but my ultimate goal is to be making $10,000. I started editing during the COVID pandemic. At the time, I had zero experience as a podcast video editor, but I needed to find a way to support my family and survive the uncertainty of the pandemic. Like many others, I turned to freelancing and found opportunities in the entrepreneurial and side hustle niche. It wasn’t easy at first. I had to teach myself everything—from understanding editing software to mastering storytelling and adapting to different client styles. If you’re just starting out as a podcast video editor, here are a few quick lessons I’ve learned: 1. Learn the Basics: Use free tools like DaVinci Resolve and watch YouTube tutorials to get started. 2. Build a Portfolio: Create sample projects or edit for free/low-cost to show your skills. 3. Network and Apply: Join communities (like this!) and freelance platforms to find your first clients. 4. Be Patient: It takes time, but consistency pays off. I want to improve my editing career in these areas: - Animation - Special effects (SFX) - Finding more clients For fun, I like to: - Travel to new places - Take on DIY home projects with my wife—I love the satisfaction of creating something from scratch. - Enjoy a great cup of coffee (it’s my go-to fuel for long editing sessions). I’m excited to connect, share ideas, and learn from this amazing community. Here’s a picture of my workspace—it’s simple but feels like home! LFG!
