It was lovely to get an invite to the farewell drinks and I fully intend to come along. However, a hospital appointment with my son took much longer than anticipated so I couldn’t get there in the end! Good news about the extension until Christmas 👍

I’ve started a new series of paintings progressing my exploration of Brutalist visual motifs. The new work features a surface divided into smaller pictographs which I think of as a glossary or lexicon. In terms of the painting/compositional theory, this is the first time I’ve introduced anything resembling a repeated pattern. Overall it is a more abstract set of shapes yet it looks more ordered than some of my previous “could almost be a building” compositions. So far an interesting new avenue to explore, hopefully I get a decent collection of paintings out of it!
