question on pricing and time of delivery to dla and vendor shiiping to dla
Hello everyone Just asking for some feedback on a few things 1 If the quote I am getting from the approved source is coming out higher but they don't bid on the contract. Should I put the bid in anyway since its a few months old. Do I get penalized if my quote is higher than what. The government paid before. 2 If the delivery time on the product to my warehouse is longer, Than the delivery time they are asking for. Is it a problem that I make the time to fulfill longer than what they are asking for. When I place the bid? 3 If the approved source has a cage but does not bid on the contract. Is it wise to ask if they can ship it into the DLA or would they jump on the contract?

100% on what @Shaun Tierney explained for you @Erwin Santos . On a side not the dates on the delivery are not in stone. If your vendor says it's takes 30 days lead time to get the products ready then you can add that on to give yourself a cushion. What I personally do is set my lead time when bidding to 150 days! Example if the vendor tells me 30 days then that allows me a delivery window of 120 days to complete delivey. Which can be helpful when managing multiple contracts with your capital. Also if you have done the work on getting quotes always submit the bid. Why because your are not the one deciding who gets the award! Second do not disqualify your self ever, many of the solicitations have 1 bidder or no bidders! Keep in mind your are submitting the bids to make profit.
Locked Dibbs Account
Has anyone dealt with a locked Dibbs account? What were your experiences like in getting it unlocked? Was it simple?

It's a standard practice with DLA to verify the validity of vendors. It's a straightforward process. Get all the required information submitted asap. The validation team are really quick to get a turnaround. My company was locked out during the height of summer business action for 60 days. On a side note after you get you information sent in don't stop and wait for your account to be unlocked. Keep going forward with your process of getting quotes so once your account is active you can submit all those bids!!!! @Keshawn Williams

@Hulya Ercan I do understand that simplistic response could make it a bit easier. However the DLA is actually reviewing the response with the human eyes. For the purpose of validation. In speaking with a validation team member via phone which is rare from what I have learned. They are not looking for a text book response but yet a response from individuals to further verify that the businesses are real. Although a cookie cutter response or profile if you will can speed some things up in the business aspect. The govcon industry does move a bit slower on all fronts due to the checks and balances set up by them. In the private sector of business things move easier and quicker with less oversight that keeps everyone not accountable. The key thing is to trust the process and keep going forward. In the govcon industry the motto is no news is good news! They will reach out will something is wrong or needs attention. That is for sure. Should you create something please share with the community! On a side not that is what makes the govcon so rewarding for me we earn while we learn!

Welcome to the community @Terry Bourn
DIBBS Validation Issues
Hello Hustlers!! Hope everyone is doing well! I wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone else has been through the DIBBS Business Validation process. I’m not a manufacturer, but operate out of my home. I don’t remember listing my business as a manufacturer but that’s what DIBBS is seeing in their system and wants to come inspect my manufacturing facility before allowing me to use DIBBS! Any advice?

That is a standard process for the DLA when they are validating your company profile. I would reach out to the DLA help desk for assistance. They can help with the correction for you @Damian Burgess .
Packaging
Where does one get packaging material from and how does one know what sizes of packaging to order?

The good news is you are at liberty to purchase any where as Calrin mentioned. Some places to buy from are uline and uhaul supplies. Also you can set up with a business account with FedEx and Ups. By doing so that gives you access to the supplies they offer at better rate. @James Peoples sometimes you can order the supplies that is offered by them at no cost to you.
