What would you do if the oil temp is HIGH, engine is running ROUGH, and you’re on a 5 mile final.

Full mixture, flaps 0, pitch for a faster airspeed until 2 mile final, chop the power add flaps and straight in. Kill the mixture if fear of damage of engine

When teaching students don’t assume they will have common sense. I sent a student in his long qualifying cross country for his ppl. Landed back at home airport and then asked what the G1000 means when it’s showing a red message with Fuel low
