What are your thoughts about AI & music?
I'd love to open a discussion about AI & Music. I've played around with tools like Udio & Suno and have gotten some cool ideas and inspiration to explore different directions, which is cool. A lot of it doesn't quite hit the mark for me - but there was a few really unique & cool ideas it gave me based on some of my flow sessions. I might end up using some of it as inspiration in my own music, though still plan re interpreting and producing the ideas myself. There's a huge uproar about algorithms being trained on copywriter work without content from the original artists. AI could potentially replace artists for music for commercials, background music and even production work. Some completely AI artists are already gaining popularly - and I'm pretty sure there way a guy who created an AI artist, generated AI music then got AI to listen to his own track and broke Spotify - which is both hilarious and sad. What do you think about AI + Music? 👇

I think using AI as a tool for analysis can be powerful education material, but my luddite tendencies are vehemently against AI as a tool(Crutch) for creation. Yes, AI is here, but we're artists and for an artist to lean on an AI tool and packaging it as your own artistic vision, I feel falls flat and I think will ultimately lead to the 'one night stand' artistic version of unfulfillment. I also fully believe you will be missing out on the 'happy accidents' and unforeseen artistic tangents you get when stumbling through something. Yes, there will be people profiting off of putting AI music out... They'll profit on people taking their 'Learn how to use AI and get noticed!!' classes as we all clamber to stay relevant... but nothing will beat the actual personal feeling of accomplishment of creating something on your own, of going through the learning curve of doing something you haven't done before, just because you had a vision of it. We're here for the journey of artistic creation and fulfillment, and if AI is used as a crutch to simply reach the destination faster, then I think you've missed the entire point of artistic creation to begin with. Art should both flow seamlessly through us as well as having us scream in rage as we try to express that deep needle in our soul...Will AI simply be a Prozac that numbs that? Do we want that? Unless of course your main focus is 'how can I monetize things to their maximum potential.' Then I guess swing for the fences.

Curious on what this challenge is? Any specific genre or workflows we need to adhere to?
