🎓 The College Conundrum by Alex Hormozi
Is college still the right choice? Let’s break it down from the video "If I Were 18 Again, Here's What I Would Do" by Alex Hormozi. 💸 The Student Debt Trap - Fact: U.S. student loan debt stands at a staggering $1.76 trillion—greater than most national economies. - Takeaway: With rising costs and stagnant starting salaries, is debt worth the risk? 📊 Earnings vs. Degrees - Insight: Yes, education leads to higher lifetime earnings, but it comes with delays and debt. - Fact: Bachelor’s degree holders earn a median of $2.2 million over their careers—more than twice that of high school graduates, yet the financial recovery often comes decades later. 💼 The Power of Experience - Real-Life Story: Alex Hormozi quit a white-collar job to start from the bottom—earning minimum wage in the gym business. A few years later, he sold his company for $46 million. - Takeaway: Real-world experience and hustle can leapfrog formal education. In many fields, practical skills are more valued than a degree. 🎯 Degrees That Matter - Careers Requiring College: Certain professions—doctors, lawyers, engineers—demand formal qualifications. - Takeaway: For roles in science, law, and medicine, degrees are mandatory, and the return on investment can be substantial over time. 💡 Smart Alternatives to College - Insight: Not all education has to come from formal institutions. Mentorship, courses, and apprenticeships offer real learning without the heavy cost of tuition. - Tip: Financial aid, grants, and scholarships can offset the burden. Seek alternative learning to enhance skills without the debt. 🤔 Your Decision: What’s Right for You? - Key Question: Does your career path require a degree or specialized education? - Tip: Evaluate your goals, finances, and desired lifestyle. If you're entering an industry where experience matters more, you might choose an alternative route. 🏙️ The Zip Code Advantage

@Jesse Rutkowski I took the university path except whilst at university I discovered the entrepreneurial space and from then I knew it had to be business…I was in two minds whether to complete my degree so I decided to complete it seen as I’d spent so much time already studying - I guess you could say I have the best of both worlds 😅

@Jesse Rutkowski probably not worth it no, was simply just a part of my journey, I learnt more from working and travelling to events ☺️
💃 The Woman in the Red Dress: Alex Hormozi’s Lesson from The Matrix
Alex Hormozi tells a powerful story from The Matrix that perfectly illustrates the importance of focus in business. Every day, we face new opportunities. The bigger you get, the bigger the opportunities. And the harder it is to say no. 🚫 In the story, Neo is walking through a crowded street with Morpheus. Suddenly, Neo notices a woman in a red dress and his head turns. 🔴 Morpheus asks, “Were you listening, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?” When Neo looks back, the woman is gone—replaced by Agent Smith pointing a gun at his head. 🎯 Here’s the lesson: In business, distractions often appear as shiny opportunities. 🌟 The higher you climb, the more attractive these distractions become —the woman in the red dress. 💃 At every level of success, you must learn to say “no” again and again. Alex used to think that once I learned this skill, I’d be done. But the truth is, the woman in the red dress keeps coming back—each time, more enticing than before. Success isn’t just about innovation; it’s about consistently doing what you should be doing, even when distractions try to pull you away. 💡 Focus is your superpower. 🔥 https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7251657559374274560/ P.S. What’s your biggest distraction in business? Comment below. 👇

@Boniface G- Michael thank you so much 😄💫
I'll be shameless...
I want to use this post to level up to 3, so that I can qualify to have a 1:1 call with Alexi. The reason I want to do that is that I think Alexi can help me grow my business here on Skool. And the reason I want to do THAT is that I believe my business can help many, many founders grow their businesses. I truly believe that. I'm 61 and want to give the rest of my 120+ years to helping founders start kicka$$ businesses that improve life for humanity. So my ask of you is: "Would you please 'like' this post and comment, so that I can level up and speed my way to helping a lot of people like us grow their businesses?" Like Willy Wonka said, "So much time... so little to do. Wait. Strike that. Reverse it."

@Howard Freeman Yes I love this 😄 I have many projects I'd love to work on to make education better for children. l'd like to make children's well-being part of the curriculum for them to understand self regulation of their nervous systems. I want our children of the future to know they matter and have unique capabilities. I want to change the way schools approach a child when they are often misunderstood, and not being listened to. One of my goals is to develop a foundation that is able to create supportive trainings for schools, teachers and children with the tools to help improve how our children learn with their needs taken into consideration.
