Hi Alex, It's cool but can' t see it either !
Film/No music
Hi everyone, In the first comment down below there's a dropbox link to a bunch of film clips that you can download, drop in your DAW, & write music for. It's a great way to practice timing & setting the appropriate mood to visual cues. ((Disclaimer)): It's probably not a good idea to go around showing off your work to these as I'm sure they are copywrited to the hilt. This is just for exercise purposes. Good luck & have fun!

Film Scoring, Music Licensing Terms / Glossary ( update A, B, C, D )
Hey everyone, when working on a film or short, the fundamental question is often to understand what the person in front wants. I think a little glossary of film music terms can help us all, so there's a starting point : (the Theorical side) To put in the list: - 2 pop : A short audio cue (typically a 1kHz sine wave) placed exactly 2 seconds before the start of the first frame of picture. It helps synchronize audio with the visual track. - Administrative Publishing: A contractual arrangement in which a designated music publisher manages publishing duties and rights on behalf of the original publisher, who retains ownership of the music. These duties may include: Promotion, Registration, Royalty collection and distribution, Other publishing-related tasks. - ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement): The process of re-recording dialogue by actors or performers after the initial filming or recording. This technique is employed when: The original dialogue audio (production sound) is of poor quality, Changes to the dialogue are needed, Environmental factors interfered with the original recording. - Advance : A payment made before income is actually earned, typically in the music industry. There are two main types: Recoupable: Essentially a loan, repaid from future income. The recipient is responsible for full repayment. Non-Recoupable: May be repaid from future income, but the recipient isn't obligated to repay the full amount if income falls short. Common uses: Advances are frequently given to writers, artists, composers, publishers, or others who expect to earn future royalties but need upfront payment. - Agent : a professional representative who represents another person for the purposes of seeking work, negotiating contracts, and handling other financial and logistical tasks. - All-In (in music licensing): Scope: Covers all possible media formats > Current media, Any future media developments. Duration: Often includes "life of copyright" or "in perpetuity" clause. This term ensures comprehensive rights coverage across all media platforms, present and future.

I'm updating a little with some new definitions in letters A, B, C, D and clarity, it gives me a little break after struggling with my linkedin account which was hacked.... Always thought about adding a two step, three steps, four steps, five steps authentification. Well, if it was due to that. I hope I haven't made too many mistakes or errors. I will probably do another update for the other letters
Introducing Cinematic Music
Heyho everyone, first of all, thanks so much for voting on the most recent post. What was it about? As I said, please don't overthink it, because we just wanted to check what category we would like to start first ... simply because we have to start somewhere and there will be all four! :) With this being said, I want to introduce Cinematic Music, a guest course by Ariel Yznardo. Ariel is a great and versatile music composer who, among other projects, works for Bleeding Fingers and Really Slow Motion. If someone understands romantic, epic, modern and classical styles of music, then it is him. Here is, how things will start rolling. The course is now open as early access and does NOT contain anything for now. Even the sections are incomplete but the first videos will roll out within the next couple of days. Ariel will deep dive into common structures, melody types, his approach to templates, arrangement and all the goodies you need to write Cinematic Music. Finally, he will jump into writing music for the four different styles as mentioned above - of course, as for the poll, he will start with "Epic." 🚀 Please be aware that this will not be a notation or sheet music course. All will happen in the piano roll and inside Cubase. As a thank you for early supporters we will make this course available for 69 USD and then, depending on the added content, gradually move up the price. In short, if you grab it fresh & hot and support us including a bit of patience, you will have a big advantage, because this course will also end somewhere around in the 179-249 USD region. Cinematic Music can already be ordered in the Classroom directly. No coupon or any external links needed. I also want to address something briefly. This is a guest course, so we can't make this accessible for free to program or pass owners. If you do the math, it wouldn't work out by instantly paying someone thousands of USD upfront to give around 70 people access to it. I can explain this a bit deeper if you want, but logically it wouldn't work out, especially if, at one point, there would be more program members and guest courses in the future.
