Thanks for the welcome, @Ramon Williamson. I hear you - I use editors for my own manuscripts (I write paranormal and contemporary romance under various pen names), and it's a battle to find people who are thorough and reliable. Not to mention affordable. I don't have the dollar on my side, so it's a constant balancing act to stay within budget while still hiring quality. I've edited in a variety of genres, but romance is my "happy place." I have a good understanding of the requirements of the various subgenres in terms of style and voice, and I'm competent in AP and CMOS. Comfortable with all levels of heat - my own stories are open-door, and I ghostwrite mafia, which is "full steam ahead" 😆. I can run from proofreading through to line edits and developmental editing, though I tend to combine them. I find it impossible to do a developmental without cleaning things up - it makes my eyes hurt. 🫣

@Ramon Williamson - I think I have to reach Level 3 to get DM privileges (unless I'm misunderstanding the platform). You're welcome to pop me a note if that's possible for you.
Q: What's your writing style?
Are you a Plotter or Pantser? ___________ Just in case you're new to this: PLOTTERS plan and outline their stories in advance, often with a detailed beat sheet or scene-by-scene outline. Plotters tend to write more efficiently because they know what needs to be written and what doesn't. PANSTERS write by the seat of their pants, inventing the story as they go along. Pantsers may have an idea or concept for their story, but they don't know where it's going. They may start with a blank page and let the story develop organically as they write.

@Ramon Williamson The irony is that my father was a shoemaker. Seriously. 😂

@Jacqui Worthy you're right! AI has become my new best friend for that. 😆

So, what are you all working on? I am working on a "The Lost Boys" inspired novel. There are going to be three to five books in the series. I also have outlines for a witches series of books.

I'm working on my last-in-series of a witch-vampire PNR romance, which I should actually be writing now, instead of posting on the net! 🫣😆 I'm so envious of your witch outlines - I love outlines, but somehow I keep ending up discovery writing. And it's SOOO stressful. I swear, for my next series, I'm plotting from the start 😂
