Appreciated! Thanks!
Improving work ethic?
Hey everyone! I grew up a bit spoiled when it comes to money, so I never really needed to work as a kid. Now, as I approach 30, I’m struggling to motivate myself to work consistently. I have an amazing job in sales where I could make a ton of money if I just committed fully, but I keep procrastinating until I run into financial issues. When that happens, I’ll work hard to make the money I need, but then I start cutting back on my hours again. What’s interesting is that I have no problem staying consistent with the gym, but when it comes to work, it’s a completely different story. I really want to become a hard worker. Do you have any tips or book recommendations to help me build this mindset? Thanks in advance!

Honestly it is about dopamine release. You aren't getting a dopamine release from your current work situation or you would want to go do that all the time. Might be worth a dopamine detox from the things you normally that make you feel good, then when you go do rewarding activities at work you will experience pleasure from those tasks and have desire to keep doing them. As a "spoiled kid" you likely got dopamine triggers all the time without the effort, like through video games or sports etc and now as an adult you still get them from things like going to the gym so you need to transfer that to your work activities.

@Urban Vidmar you'll have to do less things that you enjoy for awhile. It'll likely be hard because you're pulling away from what you like to do to detox from the dopamine.
How honest is it smart to be ok to be a obout looks to your girl?
I tell me girl when she asks about her that cus she is skinny that i would preffer a bigger butt on her and also improve her teeth. All the girls told me its horrible what i said and that i dont accept her for what she is etc. I talk about het butt on a weekly basis so i guess its to much maybe. So like what honesty is it the best to go. tell dont tell i dont know. Its not to big of a problem just want to know what u think i am new to longterm dating. Also i am taking relationship therapy already a year so i am getting used to solving arguments etc.

@Danny Jones Bro, I have a shit load of women around me and I play Warhammer 40k and Warhammer age of sigmar. Only asshole women are repulsed by that stuff, there are a ton of cool women out there that are into all that stuff, you can see them at the conventions dressed up in all sorts of nerd gear. Could be worth expanding your hobbies to include things women are into though

@Danny Jones Your profile says you are a drummer and guitarist. How often do you do those things? There are so many places you can go with instruments and meet new people. Join some jam sessions and go have some fun and drop this suicide stuff. Sure life can suck but the place it is worst is in your own thoughts.
Growth mindset, I may need a better technique.
How do people listen to Audio books at 2x speed and are able to digest everything?? I run parts back all the time at 1x speed I couldn't imagine, O_O if my mind wonders off for 2 sec I missed half the chapter... send help! What speed do you listen to everything at and how do you maintain understating the information?

Short bursts at 1.5 to 2 are my go to. I don't do any videos that I can't stay focused on for short periods at high speeds.
