Mentally Preparing for the Week
Happy Sunday everyone. I was reviewing the last two weeks and preparing the the coming week and thought I'd share some of the thoughts I had during the process and things I'm coaching myself on. If you find any of this useful, great. If not, no worries! *Wait for a good set up and it's perfectly OK to take a pass if it's not exactly what I'm looking for. *If I'm feeling rushed to get a trade placed, take a pass (someday I may be able to confidently "quick draw" and still hit my target, but not now). *It's OK to have zero trades on any given day. *Make a plan for the day, set the alerts, and then wait for the alerts. *Double check that criteria has been met and risk size is appropriate before mashing the button. *If my plan includes not trading pre-market on ES or NQ, then don't trade pre-market on ES or NQ. *If my plan includes not trading CL or GC after 12noon EST, then don't trade CL or GC after 12noon EST. *Document, document, document! *Do an end of week review, ideally with another person for an additional '"reality check." Have a great week and a solid start to August!
