Project ideas for AI and decision making (MIT)
Hello everybody again! What are some project ideas for MIT bachelor AI and decision making you think are great for getting there? Like I see that many people here use ML and AI for cross disciplinary studies aka biology and physics, but what are some project ideas that are solely in this field? I would say that I have great knowledge of AI and ML (proficient in pytorch and scipy), build a couple neural networks and LSTM's for predicting crypto and have other projects in the field, so it won't be a problem if the task is problematic, I am always eager to learn :)

Yes, I understand that projects derive from passion, that is true, but it is still hard to find a passion that is solely in the field of ML that will bring impact that is not cross-disciplinary. I mean, most of the projects that I see are in biology/physics, which makes sense. By project ideas I meant what spheres can even be researched that can bring impact? But okay, you are right I will survey those things myself :)
Introduce Yourself in this thread!
Hey, my name is Rishab. I'm a student at Harvard College studying Neuroscience. I am most interested in Neuro x AI, and do research at Massachusetts General Hospital. I started coding when I was 6-years-old, making Android apps with my elder brother. When I was 13, I created a deep learning tool for segmenting the pancreas from CT and MRI scans, and was named one of TIME's 25 Most Influential Teens and America's Top Young Scientist. During COVID, as a freshman in high school, I made a Discord bot that reached 3M users, which taught me about product design and marketing. In my junior year, I started working on ICOR, which won Regeneron's Young Scientist Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair and was my first research publication. As a freshman at harvard, I am currently building ICOR further, and have also been involved in the education space, introducing research to young students. I am the chair of the International Research Olympiad — which reached over 3,000 students in its first year, and founder of the Qurios Institute — which help teaches research to young students. The Qurios team is currently building sciencefair.io under my guidance to help cultivate youth to get involved in science research through projects. Hello everyone, I am Arseny, an aspiring data scientist and AI engineer! Want to ultimately study at MIT, that is my dream uni, have a lot of projects in ML, most of them related to crypto, also participate in many national/international olympiads and hackathons on the topic :)
Research vs job expierience
Hello everybody, I am new here and just wanted to ask a small question for you all! Here I see that most people are talking about research, and I am also thinking about doing smth like that, but do you think it is better to do research in the field or work in the field(internsip ofc). I am thinking rn on how I will spend my summer and I think about going for an internship as a data scientist at a big IT company (Yandex is the name, if you know you know) for a month. Do you think unis like MIT value more a research or work expierience? Will be grateful to see your opinions!
