Summer Break!
☀️ Okay - so it's summer time and the need to be outside is stronger than ever. I've told people for years that I'm 'solar-powered'. I'm the girl who could sit on a beach and watch the surf for hours and not get bored. I could sit next to a pool on vacation and people-watch all day (and be treated to non-stop pina coladas) and feel like I was living in absolute luxury. So, with the outdoors calling to me, how do I make sure business doesn't fizzle like pouring water on the campfire? Here are a couple of tips that I thought you might enjoy... and I'd love to hear what you're doing this summer to keep your business growing. And if you're taking the summer off, what are some things you have in place to keep "the doors open"? ☀️ Angel's Summer Biz Tips: - Set Boundaries: Clearly communicate my work hours to family and friends to minimize interruptions. And to be sure that I schedule just as much time "away" from the office as I do "at the office". - Stay Inspired: Read books, listen to podcasts, or catch up on webinars to keep my entrepreneurial spirit alive. I like to pick up the phone and chat with my entrepreneur friends - not a zoom where I have to be indoors and camera-ready, but I sit outside and have an old-fashioned conversation that energizes me. - Reward myself: Set milestones and rewards like happy hour with a friend, ice cream or an early dinner for achieving them helps me stay motivated. It can be tough to maintain your focus and productivity throughout the summer, so I'd love to hear what you're doing to focus on growing.

@Gene Early I often forget the 'reward' part, too. It's so easy to check off something and move on to the next thing on the list. Most entrepreneurs are truly running circles around most, yet, we don't give ourselves enough credit to recognize how much we do and far we've come. I feel like I set the bar so high for myself, and if I don't take the time to recognize the baby steps, I know I'll end up missing the big stuff, too. thanks for your response. it totally motivates me, too!

@Gene Early this is brilliant. I got out of the habit in May and June. My waistline is getting squishy. Haha! These are great reminders and I love it. Thanks for sharing. Will definitely put these to use.

Wife Math! (Encouragement post)
Wife Math: She leaned in closer, smiled and said, "That adds up to divorce." I blinked. Then smiled. "You're really good with numbers, thank you." *** What's clear communication worth in YOUR marriage? Not all investments add up the same outcome *** Once upon a time, I was in discussion for a project out of country. Looking at the opportunity, I asked my wife Autumn, "What's $5000 times 52 weeks?" And that's when she gave me that divorce answer. Which was fantastic feedback for me. The project would have taken me out of the country for a full year, and paid over a $250K ... but for her, having me gone for a full year wouldn't work. She's not a gifts type of person, she's a quality time and physical touch woman. Sure, we'd make some good money, but to her... she might as well not even be married since I'd be gone an entire year from her life, and the lives of our children. And, that's okay for some women, just not for mine. See, we're TOLD on social media about how women just want $$$, and a high net man, and all the rest... but the truth is, the RIGHT partner for you will work WITH you, communicate WITH you, share WITH you her need and wants, fears, dreams and desires. But YOU have to create the emotional safety, the judgment-free zone with each other to get raw, real, open and honest. Done well, that makes your marriage unstoppable! A LACK of clear communication can cost you everything - it's often easer to see the pain of a failed marriage... but what if your marriage was thriving? Expanding? Growing and glowing through the season of your life? My motto is: Life is too short for bad food, or bad marriages. If you want an unstoppable life, let's talk..

If I could ask you one question...
I connect guests with podcast hosts. One of the best things about being a podcast guest is getting to share the thing you're most excited and passionate about. If a host was going to ask you ONE question, what would you most want to share with the host and their audience?

Change of scenery to shift energy
Sometimes, I take my laptop outside & work. The shift in scenery shifts my energy. I’m super productive inside, in my office, with all my bells & whistles, but sometimes the fresh air or a different vibe gets different creative juices flowing. For example, I prefer taking phone calls on my balcony. Where do you like to work? Bonus points for including a picture! (this picture was taken on a beach retreat. This is our team working together in person for the first time. We’ve only met virtually until now.)

There are 2 places I’ve used, the hangar bar has outdoor seating near the water front and often no one is sitting there. I sort of self-serve by ordering from the bar. the 2nd is wine by George. Upstairs, outdoor balcony.. Not that I’ve been super productive with any of these options but it’s a nice change of pace to take my laptop and work on content or emails. If I’m doing a zoom call, there’s a solarium inside the boardwalk hotel between Epcot & Hollywood studios. Noise cancellation headphones are also a must!
