Sharing My Playbooks (SOPs) Templates
Hi All! I had a lot of people ask me to share my Playbook templates that I mentioned in a comment I made last week on another post. Instead of one-off sending them out, I am sharing with the entire community here, along with some best practices. These are from my software company, but can be used as a general guide to make your own! I've attached two documents to this post: 1. The Playbook on Building Playbooks -- This is a Playbook on how to make a Playbook. In my company, the first question I always ask anyone on the team is, "Do we already have a Playbook for this?" And if the answer is no, we make one immediately. 2. Our Playbook Template -- This is what we use as a default framework for all of our Playbooks. When time comes to make a new Playbook, we simply "Make a Copy" and then rename the Playbook using the following format: The [Name] Playbook. For example, The Podcast Playbook, The Social Media Playbook, The Publishing Blogs Playbook, etc. BEST PRACTICES: When we create these Playbooks, we want to organize them in a way that whoever needs to find them can, fast and easy. In my software company, we have a Playbook Library broken out by Department, which I outline below, to keep them organized and we put each Playbook under the section that makes the most sense. We also label them according to the department. For example, if we have The Podcast Playbook that goes in the Marketing Department, we'll label that Playbook "MKT09 - The Podcast Playbook." Marketing Sales Onboarding Customer Success/Customer Support Product G&A (General & Administrative) This library is where anyone on the team, current or new, can come to learn about EVERYTHING our company/team does. When we have a new Marketing team member join, this is one of the first places they go to to train themselves on what they'll be doing. The key here is to make a Playbook for LITERALLY EVERY ACTIONABLE ITEM someone does in our company. Yes, even as simple as a Playbook for making coffee (if you still go into the office lol). The idea behind these is that we get 80% done which is 100% AWESOME (see Credit Due below, took that from my coach). This will expedite training and keep us organized, forever.

@Kimberly Jones you are very welcome 😃
Who else loves to read?
Hi Group! Hope everyone is absolutely killing it this week :) I always love to share anything I think could help others and over the last few weeks I've had a lot of conversations with fellow team leaders and agents about the power of consistently reading, growing, and learning. If you ask my wife, I have an addiction to buying books (no, I'm serious lol) and I obsess over talking about new books that I've just read or bought. To that end, I wanted to share with you my reading list that I've accumulated over the years. I'll admit, I haven't read every single book here, but I fully intend to. If you have an amazing book that changed your life, whether personal or professional, I would LOVE to hear about it! Drop it in the comments and I'll surely add it to my never-ending book list on Amazon 😂

@Raymond Sjolseth my Sunday night ritual list that I try to stick to every week :) - plan which workouts I want to do for the next 7 days, update calendar in my morning workout time slot (5-6am) - look through whichever book I happen to be reading and see where I am, review notes/underlines from what I've read so far - plan with the wife what our lunches and dinners will look like for the upcoming week and buy from grocery store - take a look at all of the events I already have on my calendar, make sure all are confirmed, move around/reschedule as needed - review/write out my 3 big rocks for the week (hopefully all new) - if I didn't finish a big rock from the week prior, I always try and start my deep work (7-10am) with that particular one - lastly, I always spend Sunday night reading about an hour before bed so I can decompress...which isn't always easy to do

@Raymond Sjolseth only way for me to stay focused. If I don't identify my big 3, I'm all over the place and don't get anything accomplished lol
