Easiest way to support the group...
The easiest way to support the group is to buy things you might buy anyways with my referral links. There is no extra costs to you but I receive a small commission and every bit goes a long way 😊 📱Amazon - https://amzn.to/3Y6l8Yi ➡️Anything purchased after clicking my link will count towards commissions. 🏨Hotels: https://plannin.com/?refId=TravisTravelsVietnam ➡️This is newer travel site but integrated with Agoda/Booking so should have almost all hotels you would find on other sites and usually at a discount compared to those sites. *If you sign up, any hotel you ever book will be counted as a referral👍 🩹Travel Insurance: www.genki.world/with/travistravelsvietnam ➡️Covers every nationality for any length of time in any country. The only insurance I found that covers motorbike accidents in VN which is my biggest concern. 🛵Tours & Activities: www.klook.com promo code: TRAVISTRAVELS for 8% discount ➡️Book tours around Vietnam such as Cu Chi Tunnels in Saigon and Day Cruises in Halong Bay. 📱E-sim: airalo.pxf.io/travis 10% discount code: TRAVISTRAVELS ➡️Super affordable and operate on the best network in Vietnam (Viettel). Simcards from the airport are often a scam and this will save you a trip to the phone shop in town. 💳WISE: https://wise.prf.hn/l/8jy5XBN ➡️Makes it super easy to spend money and use ATMs in VN without fees. Your standard international card will usually have 3% fees. I've heard nothing but good things from many users. Big thanks to everyone for being a part of this group and for supporting!

Hello. I wanted to purchase an Airalo esim here, also to support the group, but I can't seem to sign up. After entering my information I click on the “accept and sign up” puns but nothing happens. I will try in the near future. Thank you
Where are you from?
This group has already grown to over 200 members! One of the coolest parts of international travel is all of the interesting people from around the world that have a chance to connect. I'm curious where everyone is from? Hope to get a chance to meet as many of you as possible! Feel free to add a GIF that represents your country 😂

Thank you for the welcome here! Let's ask something...
First of all, thank you for welcoming us into the group. You have already helped us a lot, for example, with your video of the tour to Cao Bang with your friend Sholto avoiding the overly touristy tour of Ha Giang. We arrive in Hanoi in 15 days and stay in Vietnam for 3 months. We want to buy a semi-automatic Honda scooter and tour the north for at least a month or more then go down to Saigon. We would be really glad to know if you or someone in this nice group can recommend a serious and reliable seller in Hanoi. We have already received the visa for 3 months and we have the international driver's license which is also good for motorcycles. We would like to ask you for many but we are afraid of going too far. Let us know if we can ask more questions, thanks!

Hi Travis. You are truly kind (a rarity these days). Regarding the driver's license the incredible thing is that on the official Italian website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (https://www.viaggiaresicuri.it/find-country/country/VNM) it says: “It is allowed to drive motorcycles or motor vehicles only to those who have a residence visa of at least 3 months and are in possession of an international driving license (Vienna Convention model), always accompanied by the Italian one.” Mah. However, we will still try to take our motorcycle ride also because I am not young enough to wait any longer! I will be grateful if you have a chance to send me some names of serious and reliable stores where you can buy a Honda with the original blue booklet. November and December seem like good months weather-wise to do our northern tour, what do you say? Will the terraced rice fields be empty and brown at that time? Unfortunately I think that will be the case, but you can't have everything! :-)) At the end of the northern tour we will start descending and if all goes well we plan to arrive in Saigon around January 20. Thanks for all your valuable insights and suggestions. See you soon. Aldo and Selene Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Thanks for the info, Travis. Well, as I told you we have the IDL so maybe we will have fewer problems that will be resolved (I hope) with a small fine. I look forward to your pointers to motorcycle stores in Hanoi city that will be a major help. Thank you very much and in the meantime I am also trying to figure out how “Plannin” works for my future bookings and if I can integrate my Booking account. See you soon Travis. Aldo and Selene

We are Aldo and Selene from Italy. We were fascinated by your way of telling the story of Vietnam, a country we love.
