Hello everyone! I wanted to share a few tips for selling on Walmart. This post is all about understanding and managing Lag Time effectively. What is Lag Time? Lag time is the period between when an order is placed and when it is shipped. It's crucial for managing inventory and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. By setting an appropriate lag time, you can keep your inventory levels accurate and have enough time to process and ship orders, enhancing customer satisfaction and minimizing the risk of stockouts. Default Lag Time for Walmart Sellers Walmart allocates a default lag time of up to 1 day for all sellers. This means you have a full day to prepare and ship orders after they are placed. If you need more than 1 day to fulfill orders, you'll need to open a case with Walmart and provide a valid reason for the extended lag time. How to Set Up Lag Time 1 Using the lag time template from Walmart's Seller portal -Download the lag time template sheet - Enter your SKUs and set the lag time to 1 day (or more if approved) in the sheet - Upload the completed sheet onto Walmart. 2 Through the New Item Setup Sheet: -While setting up new items, locate the lag time Column, it is found in the last columns of the setup sheet named "Fulfilment time" -Use the dropdown menu to select the appropriate lag time option (0 or 1 day) -Upload the sheet after you saved it. ** If for some reason Walmart doesn't attach the lag time you chose to a specific item use the 1st way I explained and it will attach it properly. Optimizing Your Fulfillment Process Properly managing lag time helps streamline your fulfillment process, reduce order processing delays, and maintain a good seller rating. Adjusting lag time according to your operational needs can lead to more efficient order handling and better customer experiences. If there are any questions drop them below!!
