I actually wanted to vote for more than one of these, on the basis that it could be a number of structures depending on if the punch was a swing and a miss, or if it landed on a solid body of mass. A swing and a miss could affect the joint capsule and also posterior muscle groups, similarly a heavy contact and depending on the end position of the strike could also affect the join / other structures. My vote is based on described area of pain and Agg, but would investigate further.
Knee Pain & Their DD…
So the last poll on clinical discussion landed on Knee Pain and their differential diagnoses… So let’s start… Patient comes in. Antalgic gait. Complains of “pain on the outside of my knee” and points vaguely to the lateral aspect of the knee. No visible swelling. No visible bruising. What are we doing next guys?! Comment what’s next below 👇🏼👇🏼

Knee Pain & Their DD…

So let’s break down your method of thinking @Rulan Albarouki … so that everyone can follow along. We think it is likely due to mechanics because - no trauma to create an injury out of nowhere - And we’ve decided there’s no sport / unusual loading So.. this has been gradual in onset, over time, with no noteable changes to daily routine or lifestyle.. therefor it is likely to be a mechanical issue, and the issue could be coming from the foot upward, or the hips and glutes downwards; or both. So guys… what do we want to check next?
Marketing Strategies & finding new clients
Okay guys, the poll was small, but we start somewhere and grow 🌱 - the winning topic was “Marketing Strategies & Finding New Clients… So I’ll start by asking a question: What do you think is the best way to get new clients AND WHY?! And we can go from there. Hopefully this will help those with slow diaries right now, and maybe some people new to their own private practise…

@Rulan Albarouki it’s a great idea. My company offers an incentive to Personal trainers. Occasionally we will offer a FREE, yes, a free session to PTs but with some strings attached: two or three social media stories if they liked the session. And then if they refer clients we offer incentives for them in the way of more sessions 😉

Firstly, congratulations @Chris Hughes , great job going out on your own, and even better for utilising your current network to grow business initially! It’s a great thing to do. Great idea with your soccer club too. Incentives wise, I always try not to give away revenue as a “kick back” or a “commission”, have a think of something else you can offer, and keep all that money for yourself. Building a relationship with the soccer team is great, especially if they know you already. Something that has worked well for some of my businesses is creating a small pop up a few times a year at game days or events, offering a 5-10min treatment and collecting data (emails etc). Then you offer 1) value to the club and improve their events & 2) you can target new customers with email marketing strategies. Let me know your thoughts…
Clinical discussion
Last week someone asked to do a clinical poll. Business topic was a bit slow for traction so let’s see what you guys want to discuss RE clinical assessment or diagnosis. Or even just a discussion topic… how about tackling knee pain and an associated cause?
