Worst Advice You've Ever Been Given as an Artist...
For Drew and I, we were told many years ago, "Never work with your spouse..." and then another time, "Don't ever license your art..." and then another time, "Don't make prints of your art." All of these things are what helped us create success in the business of art. I'm so glad we didn't listen to this advice! How About You? Share below!

I was also told not to sell prints...ends up prints are mostly all I have sold. LOL I have also had people with art degrees snub me. I have pretty much ignored all input unless it is from a real artist I admire.

Tutorial on how to make a digital portfolio to send as an email
This will get you on this gallerists email list, it is how he likes to receive submissions. No need to send portfolio to him. Could have many uses. We did this and used it in recent past, good instructions! https://xanadugallery1146.ac-page.com/blog-stepbystep-digital-portfolio-creation-guide

Thanks Lenore.
Question for those using Mailerlite
I set up an embedded signup form and made the Welcome Email the first thing they get in my funnel. You have the choice of double opt in which means your customer signs up for your newsletter but first gets an email wanting them to confirm they subscribed to your newsletter...if they click yes then the Welcome email is sent to them. I forgot to add, it is also for a 15% discount on their first purchase too. The con is you get fewer subscribers because they don't want the extra steps. The pro is supposed to be you get fewer emails with typos and protects against bots and spam. Which method do you guys use most and why? Thanks for your help and hope it is OK to ask this question here.

@Amanda Dagg Well oops...they do get something, 15% off on their first purchase. I am not sure that is enough for them to sign up and take the extra step of confirming unless they think they will buy right then. Kind of a toss up I guess. I will look into Zerobounce to see how that works...thank you!

@Lenore Ava Jaffe Having a credit in someone's business insinuates you owe them money. I think legally it is not a good idea. With 15% off on their first purchase, they have to buy something to save the money but I would not want to call it a credit.
