Hello, I'm V (she/her/hers). I decided to join The Unexpected Shape Café because I had longed to join a safe, supportive writing community for people with all kinds of limitations and chronic conditions. And I had found Esmé's emails very encouraging, especially when I was feeling alone. I haven't revisited what I considered my favourite books for a while. I'm rereading Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince and I sense an even deeper connection with the book than when I first read it years ago. It's a solace and is one of my favourites now. I've been journaling for a very long time and I'm trying to write a fiction based in part on the journal entries I've kept. At the moment I'm still learning to arrange my life around my chronic condition which I developed after an injury a few years ago. What I also found challenging, but perhaps necessary, was that the injury seemed to have unleashed the trauma I'd experienced in childhood and adolescence. I'm very grateful to have found my way to The Unexpected Shape Café. To all of you here: may all of your dreams come true ❤.
