Don't you just hate it when....
So, I shot a video last night, then woke up this morning with a great scrip for it in my head. I hate that! I am going to reshoot the very first part because I have a better hook in mind. How's this sound... while holding up a bottle of Coquito I say "If you'd like to try the taste of a Puerto Rican holiday treat, watch this video and I'll show you how to make this simple but delicious drink.. I know...I don't look like I'm from here, and I'm not...I can't even speak Spanish. In fact, when I'm in a store and the clerk speaks to me in Spanish, I always say, "Yo no hablo Espanol, pero yo puedo decir mala palabras"...my only Spanish language sentence. Keep watching and I'll tell you what that means a little later."

I like it! I wake up with great ideas all the time and promptly forget them. I need to write em down! "Yo hablo español, pero no debo hablar cuando tomo Coquito por que me hace decir muchas palabras malas."

@Ken King "I speak Spanish but I should't speak when I drink Coquito because it makes me say bad words." You know... I loosen up...
Tools - ScreenCast / Recorder
So the OG @Trevor Jones has great videos on how to use CapCut (and other platforms) to create / edit videos. Is there anyone in this group that does similar and needs to record their screen? If yes, what are some tools of choice? I will start, I have created "ScreenCasts" and training videos using Camtasia. I have used it's editing feature to fix flubs, over dub with audio, etc. It's a bit heavy, but works (Ask me if you are interested in seeing how to use planningIT as an enterprise architecture platform... LOL Just kidding).. For iPhone, I just use QuickTime and then import to CapCut to fix. NOW.. I will give you a topic, Screen Recorders... Discuss!

Camtasia is what I use. But it's like $300. I sometimes also use quicktime. There a free and cheaper alternatives out there!
Is this happening to anyone else?
For the second time I have gotten a message here from someone trying to help me make money. Is this happening to anyone else, or do I look like a gullible senior citizen to them?

Thanks for the heads up. It is 100% against this community rules to self promote in any way. Just screen shot who's doing it and I'll give them a warning. If they do it again, they will be removed from the community.

@Ken King I just banned her. Thank you.
Another question to make you scratch your head
Is it worth the effort to create a long form youtube video and then create a short youtube short for that same video ? I know it will take more time and effort to record and edit. Trying to run both a youtube and facebook strategy. Or would it be better to foucs on youtube shorts ? my goal is to build make content that i can use on multiple channels, grow the channel quickly and pump out content. I'm a realtor my niche is people that are going thru probate and are considering selling a home that they have inherited. What do you think Trevor ?

I'd focus FIRST on the platform where you have to most followers. Get good at delivering what they want there. If you have a little history on youtube, you can see where your viewers are most engaged/giving you the most views. Shorts or long? What length are the sticking with? When do they bounce. Focus on answering questions they have BEFORE they have an agent. It's ultimately about time management. If you can get the same or a similar video on multiple platforms where your audience is, do it, but without killing yourself. More videos = more hooks = more credibility = more business. Gotta balance it. Start with one, don't worry about doing the rest. Also consider having it outsourced. That whole delegation thing is game changing. Focus on what YOU are good at.

@Vlado Krajčinović If you are not focusing on shorts that is 100% the very best thing you can do with shorts!
IPad
Has anyone ever used the iPad to shoot videos? Just recently, I was using a Lab-mic attached to my iPhone 14 pro to record videos during presentation. I had it mounted on a Gimbal DJI. The issue was when I set the gimbal on the stand and started to record this presentation in 9x16, the weight of the receiver caused the iPhone to change position that cause the shot to Tik Tok vertical position which was not my desired recording goal. So, I thought I would try attaching my Lapel mic to my iPad and see what the outcome might be. Any Suggestions are appreciated!

I haven't messed with filming with an ipad. Depending on what you're doing, you may not need the gimbal. The iphone has pretty good image stabilitation built in. I rarely use a gimbal.
