Passed 3b2. 3 more exams to go
Just passed my 3b2 . Thank you power engineering 101 team. The 3b2 practice exam questions were quite helpful Wording was quite tricky on this one. Lots of turbine, compressors, gas turbine, pumps and refrigeration questions. Some weird admin and cooling tower questions thrown in

Power Engineering Challenges
What would you say is one of the most challenging aspects of being a power engineer in your current role? Specifically relating to working in a team environment?

@Jolan Dreyer agreed 100%, for the most part Iโ€™ve only experienced this a few times and more often that not it was just Type A personalities. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ but havenโ€™t come across it for a long time!

@Carrmen Kirsh agree 100%, sometimes can be hard to keep sight of that.

Woohoo! Thanks @Power Engineering and everyone!
New Standards for Power Engineering Facility Rating and Staffing
Have you had a chance to review the new CSA B56 draft documentation regarding facility rating and staffing requirements? This is a document that will influence every power engineer and could change the way that your facility is staffed. https://publicreview.csa.ca/Home/Details/5409 I particularly find section 6 to be interesting as the proposed "Steam Boiler Facility Hazard Score (HS)" could influence the class of plant and supervision requirements. Section 7 explains proposed experience requirements, which could force a longer duration of steam time required to complete each class of power engineering certification. I recommend that everyone creates a login and checks out this document. This is meant to be a public document that will take user feedback into account as they develop the changes that could be the new standard. Let's fire up the comments to let everyone know what you think and if you have any further insights to the proposed changes.

@Jolan Dreyer i had a quick buzz through this last night. To me it seems like a candidate would need less hours to reach the designated level of certification? Or at least thatโ€™s how I read it ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I must be missing something. I could be totally misunderstanding it, I havenโ€™t had my first cup of coffee yet either!
3rd Class PE exam order
I'm planning to study for my third-class power engineering license and would appreciate some guidance on the best order in which to approach the exam.

@Toshin Shajan I did mine in order. For me found it was easier that way. Got the math heavy ones done first.
