Filling walls with solid fill
After watching a tutorial on architectural drawings in trace, I followed the instructions on creating walls, then in a new layer, trying to apply smart fill. Not sure why, no matter where I set the slider on tolerance, the whole screen fills. Seems to not recognize the wall lines on the New layer? I was told that if the new layer is yellow, as in selected, the smart fill wont recognize the wall lines in another. Layer? If this is true how do I accomplish filling in walls on a separate layer?

@Phil Vanderloo Hey Phil, Omar here. I saw your post and decided to give this a test. The fill tool did recognize the lines on the lower layer, but it did get it wrong when the drawing lines aren’t fully closed. I also realized that the size of the layer also contributed to the tolerance of the fill tool. So the matter of pixelation comes into play again. I think the video that @Henry Gao just posted will prove helpful in this matter. Hope it works out for you buddy.
Hi from Alessia
Hi! I am an italian architect living in Finland and soon moving to Belgium! I have with more than 10 years experience in historical building conservation and renovations. I started my path as illustrator one year ago with other softwares and I’m excited to share some of my work with you!! So nice to be part of this community, can't wait to explore the possibilities that Morpholio Trace offers for integrating design with my passion for hand-drawn illustrations. Looking forward to connecting and learning together! Thanks Henry for this opportunity! 🤩

@Henry Gao this is all MT, my third time actual using the app. I’m still trying to find myself as it relates to how I want my work to present, so I’m now playing around with brushes and pens to see what works best for me. That blue was a very bad idea, but I shall redeem myself 😄. Thanks Henry and keep up the fine work, this forum has proved to be invaluable to me and no doubt all the members here.

Introduce yourself and share a photo of your workspace
Hey there, it's Henry Gao! 👋 I'm based in the Bay Area, California, hanging out with my lovely family - two kiddos and our golden retriever boy. Though I did the whole architecture school thing in both Canada and the U.S. (yeah, twice!), I discovered that teaching is my true calling in life. Drawing has always been a passion of mine, and now, I've seamlessly transitioned from pen and paper to the wonders of the iPad. When I'm not busy shaping young and old minds, you can find me hitting the trails for a run, exploring nature on hikes, or catching up with our church family. My goal here is to ignite your interest in the iPad scene. But I'm not just about design and drawing! If you've got any burning questions or just want to chat about life beyond architecture, shoot me a message. I'm all ears and ready to share whatever wisdom I can offer. ✨

Hi guys, this is my “digital” workstation and my “traditional” workstation. I’m really looking forward to being apart of this community and hope to learn from each and every member.

@Henry Gao Hardly get the chance to these days. But I strongly believe that anyone who’s interested in architecture should learn the fundamentals of traditional drafting. It has certainly helped me to better transition into a digital workspace. I can’t express how happy I am that I discovered MT, it has truly captured the essence of traditional drafting and digitized it for a more efficient and collaborative experience.
