Let's Work
@Darius DeLoach That's a great point! Collaborating with musicians in a similar genre or style can help you reach a wider audience and build your fanbase. It's always important to consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of each type of collaboration, and what makes the most sense for your current career goals and situation.
@Davida Rose How do you typically approach reaching out to artists you've never worked with before? Do you have a specific method or do you just send them a direct message?

Since We All Know Digital Platforms Are The Main Source Of Where People Listen To Music, I Want To Share A Stat With You Guys. Nearly 80-85% Of All Digital Streaming From Users Comes From Spotify, Another 10% From Apple Music & The Rest From Other Services. Basically If You’re Gonna Push Your Music Focus On The Main Source Of Streaming & That’s Spotify. Did I Miss Something? If So Please Let Me Know!

Friendly Tip !
Thank you for confirming my understanding of the importance of digital platforms in the music industry and the significance of Spotify as the leading source of music streaming. It's important for artists to stay informed of the latest trends and changes in the industry to adjust their promotional strategies and increase their chances of success. Overall, knowing where your target audience is consuming music can help artists tailor their efforts to reach and engage with their listeners more effectively.
Mental Health while pursuing your dreams
I know this is not something a lot of people talk about, but it needs to be discussed. It get's really lonely really quick when you're in grind mode trying to put out content everyday, especially when you're trying but it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. I'm sure many of you can relate to this. The spark of motivation you once had starts to dim, and the negative thoughts start to creep in, furthering your spiral even more. What are some things you do to reignite motivation within yourself to get back into doing what you should be doing?

Set achievable goals. Instead of focusing on the big picture, break your work into smaller, more manageable goals. This way, you can measure progress, stay motivated, and celebrate small wins along the way. Remember, it's crucial to prioritize your mental health when pursuing your dreams. Taking care of yourself will help you stay motivated and achieve your goals in the long run. Don't rush it.
@Joan Ushie Great advice
What role do you see technology playing in the future of music?
How do you envision technology shaping the future of music and what steps will you take to stay on top of developments in this area, including the use of AI tools such as GPT-3 in overcoming writer's block and generating album cover art, etc.?

What role do you see technology playing in the future of music?
@Jean Paul As a programmer, you may be accustomed to working with algorithms, but for some of us, the term AI is mainly associated with the recent development of generative AI. This technology allows us to input a prompt and receive outputs such as lyrics, or visual representations of our ideas. However, AI has been used in various forms, such as in TikTok's personalized content recommendations or Google's search results, long before generative AI like Chat GPT. While you may have a more detached perspective due to your programming experience, I believe that generative AI can offer significant benefits to artists. For instance, it can help overcome writer's block or create cover art, among other possibilities. Although I cannot list all the potential benefits, I believe that generative AI has enormous potential to improve the creative process. Moreover, the fact that an AI artist was recently signed to Capitol Records in 2022 highlights that there is a clear market for AI-generated music. While AI-generated art may not replace real artists, it is clear that there is a growing interest in this technology and its creative possibilities.
@Jean Paul Writer's block can be described as a state where an artist is unable to generate ideas, lyrics, or musical elements necessary to complete a song or project. Many artists choose to enlist a dedicated team of writers to help them overcome this creative impasse, and prior to the advent of generative AI, this assistance came at a cost. It is worth noting that numerous musicians, including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and many others, have been forthcoming about receiving help with their song writing, as evidenced by the credits on their songs. This suggests that even up-and-coming artists may require additional support to finish their work. However, in genres such as hip-hop, there is often a misconception that the performer holding the microphone writes all of their lyrics, which is not always the case. For instance, Quentin Miller was credited as writers on "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" on Drake's album and Nas's album "King's Disease".

Greetings everyone, I’ve been on the platform for a couple of days. I’m a singer songwriter & producer in Atlanta GA. I embarked on the journey of production when I wanted to take my sound into my own hands. My music style is progressive world with Jazz elements. I’m interested in meeting more people within the music space, most of my music friends are spread throughout the globe and due to lockdown I haven’t seen them in years but I’m going to Africa this year so hopefully I’ll get to see my people. With that being said I am looking to connect with Artists in America as well.

@Davida Rose It's also wonderful to hear that you appreciate Amapiano music, and Kamo Mphela and Busiswa are both incredibly talented artists.I'm always happy to connect with people who share similar interests and passions, and I'm glad that you're interested in doing some work in South Africa. Feel free to follow me, and we can stay in touch as your trip approaches.
@Davida Rose The combination of these artists really makes for a great groove playlist, and it's clear that you have a deep appreciation for the music. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your own music and how you plan to incorporated Amapiano into your own unique style!
