I came across this approach earlier today, and I'll add it to my prompts to determine its efficacy and if it reduces the response error rate.
Avoid prompting linearly (as we all do), biasing the model towards its initial response, as this limits its creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Think First: Tell the model to "Think step-by-step to analyze the problem. Do NOT suggest an answer."
This forces it to thoroughly understand the problem before jumping to conclusions.
Solve Second: Now instruct it to "work backward from the end to come up with the answer."
The approach is supposed to make the model more creative while allowing it to use the analysis to generate innovative solutions.
Test it out, and let me know what you find.
