EXPOSURE THERAPY - Getting Started - To Give Feedback
***NOTE*** Go to "Classroom" and then to "Exposure Therapy" to truly begin. The greatest gift you can give another writer is your attention. Exposure Therapy allows members to submit their work for feedback from the Writer Therapy community, but that's useless if no one gives them feedback. That's why you are the key :-)The goal here is to streamline the process. To make it easy for you and for the writer to get clear answers about their writing. We may refine this process as we continue, but here is how you can give feedback to your fellow writers. RULES: 1. The Golden Rule - treat others the way you want to be treated. But if you like being treated like a jerk, then maybe Exposure Therapy isn't for you ;-) 2. Give thoughtful, useful feedback. It takes a lot to put your work out there, give writers the respect they deserve. 3. While thoughtful, also be concise. We want actionable feedback that won't create analysis paralysis. 4. Again, seriously, don't be a jerk - you'll get booted. STEPS: 1. Treat it like a course. Go to the "Classroom" tab and then to the "Exposure Therapy" course. 2. In the course page, you'll find "Chapters" or folders, each containing one submission from our members. They will be numbered for your convenience–the newest ones will always be on top. 3. Go through each "lesson" in order, check them off as you go. The first lesson in every Chapter/Folder will always have a PDF that you can view or download. 4. Go through the Feedback lessons X.1 through X.4 and add your comments to the requested feedback. This will give our community members an organized way to consume your thoughtful feedback. 5. Pat yourself on the back. You did something really special for a fellow writer.

EXPOSURE THERAPY: Getting Started - To Receive Feedback
***NOTE*** Go to "Classroom" and then to "Exposure Therapy" to truly begin. Exposure Therapy is your opportunity to get dedicated, focused feedback from the Writer Therapy community. Right now, we will be adding one new piece for review per week. You must be at least a Level 2 member to submit. This ensures that you're contributing to others in the community–give feedback, get feedback. That may change as we go forward. Follow the steps below to submit your work. Steps: 1. Create a PDF with a writing sample up to 3,000 words. This can be a chapter, the opening words, any section you want, ideas and outlines, blurbs or marketing materials, query letters, or anything else that pertains to your current writing project. In this PDF, you must include the following: 2. Submit the PDF to writertherapyskool@gmail.com and it will be added to the queue as long as you include those three points above. 3. Once your piece is added to the Exposure Therapy classroom, fellow members will be able to read/download your PDF and go through each course page to comment on each point that you requested. 4. This is a work-in-progress. If a better system reveals itself, or if you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. 5. You can submit multiple times, however, depending on the queue, I cannot promise it'll be featured as quickly.
Help me choose a new cover?
Hello fellow authors, creatives, and support network. I recently made the very bold (and scary) decision to spend the time and resources on a deep, line by line edit of my manuscript. My goal is to unpublish from Amazon as an exclusive title and re-launch on IngramSpark for greater visibility, reach and distribution options. It will go back up on Amazon as well, just not as an exclusive. With all that being said, I also commissioned a new cover from an artist on Fiverr. They were wonderful. The process was smooth and seamless. And the artist delivered more quickly than the deadline. What I'm asking of you all is to help me narrow it down to one or two options from five. I already weeded out 18-19 other options they sent that just don't vibe with my story. I'm adding a poll so everyone who wants to can vote for their favorite. I'm also going to add the blurb so you all can get a feel for the story to aid in your choosing. 3,757 years of peace are ending. A Bandit King rises on stolen lands, an Empress is murdered, and the Scales of Amat’ Aga begin to tip. In the Empire of Glythuss, the Raven Princess survives a shattered soul—left broken by a loss she cannot escape. As whispers of rebellion spread across Lodronus, distant lives are drawn together: The Consort of Glythuss must answer to a King… or the Deities.A Royal Guard seeks redemption in the wake of tragedy. An advisor without a homeland struggles to find purpose in a quickly changing world. And a forgotten boy, raised through cruelty and neglect, must choose who he will become. The fate of Lodronus hangs upon the Scales. Something ancient is moving in the shadows. And Chaos is waking.

Happy Mother’s Day!
To all the mother’s here who are somehow also finding the time and energy to write, Happy Mother’s Day! Thank God for this built-in superpower you’ve got. It’s pretty epic and magical if you ask me. Sincerely, One very appreciative father!

Not a therapist. Not a coach. Not an expert.
Just a place for writers who take the work seriously — and wish they had someone to talk to about it.
