Suddenly caring for a bedridden spouse or elder relative?
It almost guts your own health to have to suddenly take care of someone you love. The largest cohort of Americans right now is Baby Boomers, living their lives into their 80s, 90s and beyond. But if you suddenly have to care for a Boomer, what can you do that ensures your own health stays above the line? I say, UPGRADE YOUR SELF-CARE--how you take care of you--to a simple, holistic plan of action to meet the deep changes head on. I'm not an M.D., but I used a plan that adjusted my mindset and attitude to help me take care of my mother for five years. I got her meds down from 5 to 1 and helped her transition more sweetly, with zero bedsores, as she ended her 83yo journey. You too can upgrade your personal self-care so it assists you AND your loved one. Just use the 3 self-care boosted to the higher octave--> "self-healing" techniques that I used-- 1. Breathwork and meditation 2. Essential oils and aromatics 3. Hand healing I AM CALLING ON YOU NEW CAREGIVERS (and you leaders of caregiving entities). Don't get crushed under the burdens. With self-healing techniques you can... - Adopt an easy wakeup routine - Adopt an easy bedtime routine - Go back to sleep after caregiving disruption - Enhance food nutrition - De-stress quickly - Be more resilient when its called for --and this is more often than not. You CAN feel good—not pressured—into making wellness choices that support tranquility in the midst of the upset. It's your human right! And after the home health aide goes home (if you have one), the real care falls to you anyway. Caretaking is a complex industry. Even with 24/7 support (which can take a long minute kick in) your sudden involvement requires SPEEDY STEPS to meet the challenge. Step 1. Gift yourself-- 🎁 a goody bag of health-preserving actions (building towards your arsenal) 🎁 a set of simple new habits for little cost (and yet, generous benefits) 🎁 the commitment to your own self-healing, since "the body heals itself"

On Board w/The HealMobile Conductor - What it means
Continuing the ALTITUDE thread—this train (heal-mo’-beel) is going higher, up the spiral mountain of drudgery to boost endorphins, unpack stress and maybe emulate the thrill of rounding the bend like a roller coaster. I find it exciting. I love my daily routine applying sweet essential oils, presencing life force energy, and tapping on my face and torso. After doing this, I feel ready for the world and the beyond! This is what it looks like on the HealMobile wholeness, wellness, and dis-ease prevention voyage. 🚀 My purpose is to ensure you and your loved ones, as Works of A.R.T.* are safe and secure; to inspire actual enjoyment of this galactic ride. I’m being maybe too creative but I’m saving at least one life ~ my own. It's a life of caregiving-leadership that I admit feels depleting, draining, and constantly confronted from time to time. It's a mountain with valleys we're climbing, after all. Two decades ago, to make light of the journey, I felt compelled me to definitively address my dedication to collective healing. Alongside being a healing mobile, I wanted to establish the radical “conduct” of doing something about the body-mind's ability to self-heal. There is so much evidence of self-healing (which is redundant but we’ll not tackle that now.). In Western society, we’re not encouraged to “go there.” And yet, this is key to our freedom generally and health liberation in particular. I'm inspired to promote the holistic health lifestyle formed from childhood to now, which has me proclaiming myself Conductor of transformation transportation ~The HealMobile ~ on the Overground Railroad, in the manner of Harriet Tubman. 🌍 This is the imaginative, intangible world I live in. (“She’s in a dream world,” teachers said on school report cards.) "I dream a world..." So, I hold myself as Conductor of the unseen space of collective transformation of a people locked up mentally spiritually culturally socially, in a word (or in my niche), holy or wholly health-wise. And taking them to/making sure they are going to somewhere else, better.

So clever yet not speaking to CRISIS
As you may know, I love art. I love creative, clever turns-of-phrase. I used to say, waaaay back, that if I had a different heritage, I would be a rich corporate Advertising Executive (doing what AI now does). That delusion never served me. I think my regretful attitude transmuted into obstacles lasting DECADES. Fast forward…🎶🎶 I can see clearly now 🎉🎉 I’ve Grown sharp after years of experiences most people never learn from, and invite burnout because they didn’t make a choice. Saying all this to say, HAPPILY, I am returning to the reasoning for my services stated in 2019 ~ TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THE EMERGENCY ROOM. And to reinforce prospects for your life vision, fulfilled. So, to you overgiving Boomers and Millennials who find yourselves at a crossroads ~ in pain, recovery, feeling drained or confronted, take time to be real with yourself and your relationships. Get back on track and aligned on purpose. If this speaks to you and you honestly have something pressing, consider an Intervention Conversation to handle your immediate concern, for no cost at all. This is NOT a Discovery or Opportunity Call. Book a 40-minute session at: bit.ly/MeetDrNiamo

How do you stay above the fray?
No matter what your occupation or vocation, you probably have at least three ways you keep yourself healthy and happy. You developed these along the way, over decades of trying different ways to stay healthy and upbeat. For myself, I found that aromatherapy, energy-healing and tapping are supports and profound contributors to how I feel that instantly change my disposition. But behind these healing arts are other self-regulation and self-reliance practices that shore up my wellbeing. These include praying and meditating at dawn, earthing, journaling, dancing, sound therapy, and downing dietary supplements, especially when I’m in the U.S. I think all self-sufficient individuals have three or more ways they keep themselves afloat, above the pressing challenges that might otherwise keep them from going to work, for example. What are your basic 3? Or do you have 10, like me? (Juicing makes it 11.)

You don't know who people are and I forgive you
I met my brother Gary’s caregiver after my brother passed away. SekouTuré was a musician on his downtime and did the home healthcare gig 9 to 5 (kind of). Gary was not his only patient, I know that for sure. But he was his last best friend. The way he moved through Gary’s belongings, separating things into Stuff to Give Away, Stuff the Family May Want, and Stuff to Throw Away, was fascinating to watch. I think he played the horn, but he did this work like a drummer. I could tell he had walked this route before -- had a patient transition on him. What a "death doula" he was! But this wasn't claimed. He was indeed a Work of Art on the Overground Railroad, helping people succeed with creativity and compassion, at a point in their lives where they don't know when they're going. I'm happy to have met someone with a passion for his creativity who also found caregiving a way to express empathy and love. Maybe it was because he wasn't "from around here" that combining the two came naturally to him. The other male caregiver Work of Art I ran into desired to "work in banking." This is the field he works in right now, and we're friends on LinkedIn. He was also not born in the US. Just a Creative who used caregiving as a stepping stone to fund his economics degree as he helped me with my mother. Message for caregiver-leaders--> Whatever may be burning inside you that doesn't appear to align with caregiving or helping people holistically, just know this too is part of the terrain. I'd love to hear your insights into parallel worlds you're traversing as we speak, that you know could work in tandem if you just knew how! Maybe the goal seems farfetched, but isn't. You can't leave with your song still inside you, as the saying goes. Certainly don't let hands-on healthcare giving-work stop you. Learn more about how I can help here. If the timing is now, book an Intervention Call at bit./y/MeetDrNiamo
