The tracker I built to answer the big question ๐Ÿ“Š
For months I was saying "I'll leave when my business makes enough." But I never actually defined enough. So I built a tracker that does it properly. What came out the other side changed how I think about my business. Here's what it calculated for me: ๐Ÿค My TRUE employment value (salary + super + insurance + leave + safety net = the real number your business has to match, not just your take-home) ๐Ÿ’ต My REAL business net (after expenses and tax, lower than I thought) ๐Ÿ“Š THE GAP (the honest figure between where I am and where I need to be) ๐ŸŽฏ Three specific targets: Floor (bare minimum), Comfortable, and Confident ๐Ÿงพ Exactly how many sales I need per month at my price point to hit each one ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ What list size I need to generate that โœ… A month-by-month timeline to get there And then a one-page CEO Commitment page where I wrote it all down and made it real. The number was scary. And also? A massive relief. Because now I know what I'm working toward. Not "moreโ€, a specific figure, with a specific plan. It's $37 and you can get it here: From Salary to Sales If you're in this community because you're building toward leaving your job, this is one of the most important pieces. It takes the "someday maybe" and turns it into a date and a number. Any questions, let me know.

I'll go first โ€” here's my intro ๐Ÿ‘‹
Since I'm asking you all to introduce yourselves, feels only fair I go first. I'm Niky. I live in New Zealand (yes, the time zones are genuinely chaotic ๐Ÿ˜‚), I'm 18+ years into a senior leadership career in the public service, and I'm building my own business, right now, while still fully employed and wrangling a young family. Why am I doing this? Because I've always wanted to work for myself. Because I watched my Dad start businesses growing up and it never left me. And because pouring all this energy into a career where extra hours don't translate into extra reward stopped making sense a while ago. So here I am. Building in public. Sharing every experiment, every mistake, and every win, including the ones that are embarrassing to admit. Your turn. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop your intro below, you can use this template if you need it: Hi! I'm [NAME], based in [COUNTRY] and I'm currently [JOB/SITUATION e.g. still in 9-to-5 / side hustle started / recently left]. My biggest challenge with building a business alongside work is [CHALLENGE]. I'm excited to [ONE GOAL]. Canโ€™t wait to hear about you all.

Experiment 2: Final Results - What impact does posting consistently across Skool actually have?
Day 30 completed. The final update. Here are the numbers: ๐Ÿ“Š Before (May 1) โ†’ After (May 30) โ†’ Members: 76 โ†’ 115 โ†’ Direct Skool member attributions: 13 โ†’ Discovery Rank: 1,769 โ†’ 1629 (it got to 1529 by Day 9) โ†’ Engagement: 78% โ†’ [final 70%] (average: 76%) โ†’ Conversion: 6.7% โ†’ [final 33%] (average: 19%) โ†’ Directly attributable sales: 4 โ†’ Posts completed: 75 What worked: - Getting pinned in other communities (Goosify twice, Skool Scale Camp once - combined reach: 20,000+) - Looking at the data the first 15 days provided the large majority of Skool members coming into my group from other groups - 12 of the 13 came in during that 15 days. Posting 3 times a day had an impact.ย  - Reducing from 3 posts to 2 at Day 15 was good for my own time management/sanityย ๐Ÿ˜‚ - Email swaps with aligned audiences, saw two influxes from this (Day 19: +5 members in one day; Day 29 + members in one day). Note this was outside of Skool so technically nothing to do with posting 3 times a day across Skool... What didn't work as expected: - Raw posting volume didn't drive proportional growth - The rank improved but only slightly and rank alone doesn't pay bills ๐Ÿคญ - Reducing posting to twice a day had a negative impact on my new members coming in from across Skool - The engagement in this group decreased across the experiment and I think its partly because I was stretched too thin - posting 3 times then 2 times a day; promoting and putting together contributors for my bundle; finishing my new From Salary to Sales offer (which was well worth the time and effort, it is awesome!) and oh yeah, I have a full time job!! So I am planning my Experiment 3 updates to be a bit more frequent for you guys and not having to be across all this posting everyday might be a wee relief for a bit!ย  My reflections: Consistent Skool presence holds the ground. It builds trust, keeps engagement warm, gives you something to report. But most of my sales and members came from outside Skool through email campaigns, pinned posts in bigger communities, and bundle contributions.

When do you actually do your business building?
๐ŸŒ… Early morning before work โ˜€๏ธ Lunch break stealth mode ๐ŸŒ™ Late night after everyone's in bed ๐Ÿ“… Weekend warrior ๐Ÿคท Whenever I can grab 5 minutes honestly Drop your answer below, curious whether we're all burning the midnight oil or if some of you have cracked the early morning thing ๐Ÿ˜‚ (For the record I'm a 4:40am wake up AND a late night person so clearly I have no chill ๐Ÿ˜…)
