Scent of Sunday evening football tonight. Needed something to bring brightness to the evening and RRE is a fantastic way to do that. Cost is prohibitive for sure. But when I see other houses selling for the same or vastly higher and bring nothing to the table I question why? This is a high quality frag pushing olfactory limits with quality ingredients and attention to detail. Without calling out designer houses I will say a less quality profile. Boys I am begging you to explore into the niche houses to understand why quality over quantity will always work out better for you.

What on the rocks/obsidian is: - fresh citrus of the top, with cinnamon in the mid and dry down. This is above all a freshy scent, with this cinnamon twist from the main line. - Perfect for cold and mid seasons, maybe even summer night, very Office friendly. Think of it like Channel Allure Edition Blanche, make it less violent on the lemon, remove the "meringue" part and replace it with the cinnamon. - This is a discreet scent, not made to last long or to leave a big trail. It inspires tenderness, someone approachable who likes his perfume lemony but in a cosy way, not a sporty one. This one was on my radar for a while, as I love the Kilian's Angel Share line. I just received both Royal Blend Sequoia from French Avenue (supposed to be clone of Paradis), and this one. I also have a sample of the OG Kilian Share on the Rocks bought through tryasample to make sure I remain objective. The royal blend definitely needs to mature because I can tell just by a sniff the difference with Paradis. All tests were done both on paper strip and skin. Conclusion: Obsidian is almost a 1:1 with Angel Share on the Rocks until late in the dry down and skin scent. Personally I can live with it given the price difference, but here they are: - On top note: the OG is a more zingy citrus, close to what lime is. Obsidian remains at lemon level - When dries down: the OG remains a natural scent, fresh and lemony. The Obisidian is very close to that, but it is like a tone down version, which feels slightly more synthetic/matured lemon. To give you a concrete idea of the scent between the OG and Obsidian, it would be comparing a freshly cut lemon (OG) with one that has matured couple of weeks (Obsidian). - The difference increases over time, since the Obsidian really has the cinnamon (and a bit of orange and apple) progressively taking over the lemon when the OG stays focus on the lemon until if fully disappear. This is where most people like connaisseur will tell the difference between the two. - Obsidian propagation/trail is stronger than the OG, and this includes lasting longer as a skin scent - People around you will smell it during the first 2-3 hours, then they will have to be near you. Skin scent itself last on me about 8 hours. This is not one of this scent you will smell on your body the next day when you wake up. - Compliments puller? I do not know. My kids love it, so does my wife - They liked to come close from time to time to smell it and make me a hug. Happy father 🥰 I will see during this week how it performs at the Office.
