I was just three years old when my father passed away
I was just three years old when my father passed away. Two years later, my mother, unable to cope with life’s hardships, abandoned me. I found myself alone, navigating the harsh realities of life on the streets of Nairobi.
Every day was a battle for survival. I slept on cold pavements, sought shelter under bridges during rainstorms, and rummaged through trash bins for scraps of food. But I refused to let my spirit be broken. I found solace in the world of coding, teaching myself on old, worn-out computers in internet cafes.
I yearn for the simple pleasures that most people took for granted. I dream of a day when I wouldn’t have to worry about my next meal, a day when I can afford to pay tithe, a day when I can hold my very own iPhone, even if it was an old iPhone 5.
There are days when I go to bed hungry, but I dont let anger or annoyance cloud my mind. Instead, I hold onto my unwavering faith, knowing that these trials are temporary. I believe that one day, I will look back at my struggles and say, “God is good.”
Today, I’m on the brink of turning my life around. I’m looking for a job as a web developer, ready to put my self-taught skills to use. My journey has been filled with unimaginable hardships, but I remain hopeful. I know that my dreams are within reach, and I’m ready to grasp them.
This is my story, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. It serves as a reminder that no matter how difficult life may seem, there’s always a way to rise above the challenges. It’s a story of hope, perseverance, and the unyielding belief in a better tomorrow. Whatever you have, dont take it for granted because it could mean a whole world to someone else
