For example, McDonald's started with burgers and expanded into real estate. If billion-dollar companies are diversifying, we should be doing the same at our level.

Think about how you can monetise your existing skills. As a financial advisor, I learned to give presentations, which led to paid speaking gigs, social media content creation, and TV appearances. These all came from skills I developed in my main role.

Look at your business—who are your customers, and what other businesses serve them? Collaborate, find synergies, and explore business-to-business opportunities. For example, if you run a nail salon, you could teach others how to start their own.
