Breaking into VC: Amber's Intro 🚩

I'm thrilled to be here! Thanks to Abi for sharing the invitation link from our Slack group. I'm Amber from Malaysia, currently based in Japan. I originally come from a pure science background, majoring in biology and chemistry during high school and later pursuing a bachelor's degree in wood science technology at university. Surprisingly, life steered me toward the business sector, something I never imagined, especially since I wasn't fond of it during my school days for no particular reason. Recent updates: After a three-year stint working in Japan after graduation, I paused my career to discover my true passion. Within months, I came across a program organized by a VC accelerator and was fortunate to be chosen for an upcoming apprenticeship. While I'm relatively new here, I'm keen to learn and am open to various opportunities, be it internships, part-time, or potentially full-time roles. My expertise lies in entrepreneurship and business strategy. I've previously worked in the trading sector, focusing on imports and exports, and have been involved with several impactful local and international startups.
