Overcoming Doubt
Scripture:
*"I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!"* – Mark 9:24 (NLT)
Observation:
In Mark 9, a desperate father seeks healing for his son and acknowledges both faith and doubt in his plea to Jesus. This raw, honest admission reflects the reality of human struggle. Faith does not require perfection, only trust in God’s power. Jesus responds not to the man’s doubt but to his willingness to believe, demonstrating that God meets His people where they are, strengthening their faith through His grace.
Application:
I sometimes wrestle with doubt when circumstances feel overwhelming, espicially when the pain in my legs seemed not to stop while on dialysis. Yet, like the father in this story, I can bring my uncertainties to God. His love is not contingent on my perfect faith but on His unchanging character. By confessing my doubts and asking for help, I open the door for God to transform my weakness into strength and renew my trust in Him.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your patience when I wrestle with doubt. Strengthen my faith and remind me of Your faithfulness. Help me to trust Your promises and walk in confidence, knowing You are always with me. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
🫶 What is one area of your life where you need to say, "I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief," and how can you invite God into that struggle today?
