Question (might be a stupid one but that's okay)

Lately I've been trying to write tracks and I get the idea and everything down but my call & response with the percussions and/or stabs don't mix well with my synth line. They are fighting each other instead of meshing together rhythmically and maybe harmoniously as well. Any Adivice?

I'm still going through some techno courses and learning all over again after a really long break from producing.
