Some of you might be wondering. I felt that the 'faith journey project' sounded nebulous, passive and perhaps like a 'project' = something you didn't look forward to. Meanwhile, I meet more and more people who seem to have spotty Biblical knowledge and don't know. how to proceed in their Christian lives. My calling is to Biblical literacy, which is why I got a Masters in Religion a few years ago at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Jesus calls us to discipleship, not just salvation. Once we're saved, there's a lot of growing to do! and changes to go along with the growth we're receiving. Discipleship means following Jesus in our lifestyles, our knowledge and our relationship with him. It's not scary, but some may think it is - so I further softened it up by naming our site "Faith Journey in Focus" though the URL continues to be "Discipleship Matters"...sigh...it's all a balancing act. Please don't worry that my tenor has changed: it hasn't. I don't believe in legalism and I do believe that we must each follow the Spirit's will and direction for our lives - but this is an active relationship and an active process of becoming like Jesus. That's what 'discipleship' means to me. Why does it mean to you? Tell me to complete the action!
