I had a rough night—lots of overthinking while falling asleep, followed by nightmares, and my 3-year-old woke up four times, ending up in our bed at 4:30am. Let me tell you, I did not want to get out of bed this morning!
But with my daughter needing to get to school, I dragged myself up, prepped lunches, all while feeling headachy and nauseous. I had a workout planned for 8:30, but I really wasn’t feeling it. So, I decided to take my son to daycare on foot, and while power-walking back, I realized my day could go two ways:
1. I could let the tiredness take over, go back to bed, mindlessly scroll through my phone, and show up for neither myself nor others.
Or…
2. I could reframe my thinking—be grateful for the sleep I did get, for the sweet cuddles with my son, and commit to starting my day by following through with what I promised myself (the workout), even if it didn’t look exactly how I imagined.
So here I am, squeezing in a quick 15-minute workout, reminding myself (and my brain) that I’m strong enough to do what I set out to do—10lb weights and all 😅.
What’s challenging you today? How can you reframe it?
