Problem Solving Self-Improvement (For Entrepreneurs)
Alright, so in the past few years, a lot of guys started making content about self-improvement and giving advice on the topic. However, lately, some millionaires have shared their opinions on all the "good" habits and have just called B.S. on the whole thing.
I once heard this quote from Sam Ovens: "Define the problem & then solve it." Also, Andrew Kirby shared a different view on self-improvement in one of his recent videos: doing the habits that you actually need.
The goal is to do the work. The best-case scenario (in terms of the lifestyle needed to be a killer) is being able to work all day every single day for as long as you wish to.
The problem is that I tried doing that, and after a few weeks of working from the minute I woke up to the minute I went to sleep, I couldn't do it anymore. Call it burnout, call it whatever.
This is why we use habits to make consistently working hard easier. These are the majority of "good habits" associated with self-improvement, along with the problems they are trying to solve, and which very successful, well-known guys also do them.
  1. Sunlight: Helps with energy levels, sleep, and mental health. Even Alex Hormozi does it and recommends it. This is a must for me—30 minutes in the morning and 60 minutes throughout the day.
2. Going to the Gym: Source of dopamine, good for your health (mental and general) and physique, also helps with sleeping. This is a no brainer. Maintenance level—3 times per week.
3. Mind Clearing Habits: Most top performers have a habit to clear their mind. It can be walking, running, or meditating. A lot of billionaires meditate. Hormozi doesn’t, but he does walk after every meal. I will do walking and meditation because mental health was a weak point of mine for a very long time.
4. Reading: A lot of billionaires say they read a lot while being children. Iman Gadhzi, Andrew Kirby, Charlie Morgan, Alex Hormozi, and Hamza all had a reading phase. This doesn’t mean cause and effect, though. I will approach reading in a “define the problem and then solve it” kind of way. Read with a clear purpose in mind. Read to solve a problem.
5. Cold Showers: Boost dopamine by 250%, good for discipline. Hormozi doesn't do them. I don't think Kirby does them. As of right now, this may change. I will not do them, maybe just once in a while, not as a rule.
6. Gratitude Journaling: Good for mental health. Feels kinda weird. Hamza used to do it a lot in the past and he isn't doing it anymore. Figure out if it's helpful for you. I am probably not going to do it.
7. Journaling: Good for clarity. Clarity is good for productivity. I will do it when I feel a lack of clarity or when I have a decision to make. Also, I may put this habit inside of my evening routine. I remember having really good sleep after doing it.
8. Affirmations: They get your self-image up to speed. They have to be rooted in truth, though. Hormozi says they are non-sense, but Hamza, Charlie Morgan, and Sam Ovens all did them while making their first money online. I will do them. Daily.
