OI and Organoids (brain hurt)
What are y'all's opinion on Organic intelligence i.e using basically living things as computation.
Personally I have a extreme bias due to reading sci-fi I think to the extremes but in my mind I can't find a argument against creating OI and those...Organoids other than the brain waves= human/sentience(as stated by their creators)/consciousness. Albeit they aren't talking or thinking on our level but it's very possible they could be soon and I find that puzzling.
My "rational" fear of organic intelligence really drives from a personal issue with purpose and I see something machine like having a even greater desire for purpose than our own.
I'm probably wrong but it scares me a little because everything humans do is for our "purpose" religion, science, art, history, animals, children/family (I'm not bashing anything y'all believe) there is a reward of purpose in a lot of things and really what do biological machines get outta that?
"What do biological machines get outta that?"
Sounds dumb but who knows if the machines we'll bring about will become that intelligent and with how little we understand about the mind it leaves so many pathways for us to traverse. Also with which we use this "wet ware" and I beg for bigger names to think on it.
It's just really cool that I got the start of the good Internet for a childhood then I get the Chatgpt and so fourth to see now. Our world is really changing, I hope that it's for the better.
Sorry for the insanity that is above but it's a fascinating time.
Hope everyone is doing great.
