What I Wish I Knew Before I Started Dropshipping (Real Talk)
What I Wish I Knew Before I Started Dropshipping (Real Talk)
No fluff. Just real stuff I wish someone told me when I got into dropshipping:
1. You won’t get rich overnight.
All those “1 day 10k” screenshots? Most of them don’t show the losses, ad spend, or refunds. This is a real business, not a shortcut.
2. Your store actually needs to look good.
If your store looks sketchy or slow to load, people will bounce. I learned that the hard way after wasting money on ads that led to a store nobody trusted.
3. Product matters. A lot.
Not everything on AliExpress is a winning product. I spent too much time selling stuff I liked instead of what people actually wanted.
4. Ads are a skill, not a gamble.
I thought I could just “boost a post” and make sales. Nah. Running ads is a whole skillset. I had to learn targeting, creatives, testing… it’s not plug-and-play.
5. Customer service will test your patience.
Dealing with shipping delays, chargebacks, and angry customers taught me more about business than any YouTube video ever did.
If you're just starting out — take this as a sign to go in with your eyes open.
Ask questions. Test smart. Don’t chase shortcuts.
If I may ask what are the challenges have you faced in starting dropshipping business
