AI Code Comment Generator - Progress Update
One of the bigger fears when hiring a developer is that they create code that is hard to understand and collaborate on. Many times, this is a form of job security - by leaving out comments (notes which explain the code), it means you almost have to rehire them, or pay another developer more to comprehend the code and continue it.
I am working on a tool to help with this. The goal is to automatically generate comments for code - so that you can then read through and understand what every function and part of the code is doing. This is still a work in progress, but I think it has potential if I spend more time on it.
I've attached a screenshot of some code, with the comments that the tool automatically generated for it. You can see that it explains what the variables are supposed to do, and the array at the bottom is labeled as being used for obfuscation. It is far from perfect, but with these notes it makes it much easier for a person with less experience to atleast know why a bunch of random numbers are there, instead of just seeing it without any explanation.
