Writing About Someone Else’s Product
Hi there,
I want to write a how-to book about how to best use a companies software product. I want to take a deep dive into how to best use this product as a way to drive traffic to a my business as a contractor and consultant for organizations using that product.
I’m having trouble finding out if I need their permission. I’d like to use screenshots of their software and those screenshots may include their name and logos. The title would include their company and product name and the text will certainly reference both.
What do I need to know/learn here? Maybe I just need to reach out for authorization. Do I do that first? I’d hate yo put time into a book to be denied permission.
Thanks for your thoughts!
