Dear RROC Family,
As many of you are aware, Hurricane Milton is projected to strengthen into a Category 5 storm and is forecasted to have a major impact on Central Florida, including the Sanford area. While we place our trust in God’s protection, it’s important that we exercise wisdom in preparing for what may come.
With that in mind, we have made the decision to cancel our Tuesday night service in order to give everyone time to make the necessary preparations and prioritize your family’s safety. Current reports suggest the storm could reach our area by Wednesday night, bringing with it heavy rains, strong winds, and potential flooding. Now is the time to take the precautions needed to safeguard your homes and loved ones.
Here are a few reminders as you prepare:
• Make sure you have essential supplies on hand—water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, and any necessary medications.
• Secure your home and, if you’re in an evacuation zone, be sure to have a plan.
• If you have a laptop, keep it fully charged to use it as a power bank for your electronics & keep your phones charged.
• Stay informed through local news and emergency updates.
Though this situation can feel overwhelming, I encourage you to lean on the security we have in Christ Jesus. We have peace in times like this, because we know He is our strong tower. Psalm 46:1 reminds us, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Let’s remain in prayer, asking for God’s protection over our community.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you or someone you know needs assistance during this time. As a church, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so let’s support one another however we can.
Stay safe, be prepared, and continue to pray for God’s guidance and peace. We will keep you updated with any further announcements.
In Christ’s love, Pastor Richard
