Chatting with my kid

I went online to check in with my son yesterday & tell him about his grandma’s death and I was very unsure about how it would go or what to say exactly.

It took me a few minutes to find the words. He wasn’t upset by it just sad and curious about the details, many of which I don’t have.

So we talked about that and the strained relationship between myself and my mom. After a few minutes it transitioned into other things and then he started playing his video games and showing me different parts of it and clips of dialogue he thought I would find funny.

It was pretty cool and before I knew it a couple hours had passed and my stomach started growling and then my cats started their feed me routines.

I took a break got food for them and myself and continued the chat.

It was the longest and best conversation we’ve had in years.

I usually get bored when he goes on a video game tangent but not this time and so I have to think it’s from my meds and more so from all the meditations I’ve been doing with
