A lot of people have wondered why we're using Skool over Discord.
I love Discord - I used it for 7 years. But I have the community's best interest in moving this community to a different platform where we can be more useful for students.
Skool is inconvenient. This is a good thing -- only students who are actually focused on science research & STEM will use it. On Discord, there are troublemakers every single day who hide behind anonymous usernames and are here to annoy people. Discord is not necessarily addictive, but as a user of it for 7+ years, I have noticed that some people end up wasting a lot of time on this platform. I don't want to be an enabler of low quality, brainrot/time wasting for students. I want you all to do your best.
We have over 2,100 active users on Skool every weekly. On Discord we have 1,800. The Discord is over twice the size.
I am 90-95% sure that the Skool will prove to accomplish our goals much more effectively than the Discord. I 100% understand if you disagree with me, but give the Skool a shot - I think you won't be disappointed if you're looking for high quality conversations and advice.
