I Need Independent Research Lab Opportunities (People are doing/have done research, pls help!)

Hi everyone, I'm a 14 year old trying to conduct research on Hpv-induced oral cancers. For me to be able to actually do research in most labs in my state of GA, I heard that I need to be at least 16. I don't have any connections in the research field besides my friend's dad 💀. For people who have done research at a middle school-early high school age, could you please tell me what how you got labs for research and was it just plain cold emailing? I really need help.
