Community check: Search and Rescue
Hi SAR people!
I’m your basic ground-pounder and UAS pilot in Jackson County, Oregon. Yesterday, our team had their first live rescue in Coos County. A 65 y/o female, mushroom hunter, lost for two nights. For us first-timers, it was an unexpected moment of pure elation to save someone’s life. Looking back, there are several lessons on early drone deployment and pre-planning that can reduce search time in the future.
