Passed PMP exam with AT in all domains!
Good day everyone, Extremely delighted to share that I passed PMP exam with AT in all domains. This would not have been possible without 's materials and the knowledge he share with us! Eternally thankful to him馃槆馃檹.
Definitely it was a tough journey, especially having to balance work & family commitments. I had to spend long hours after work, sacrificing family time for several weeks. But definitely worth it. It's so satisfying to pass the exam in a high note.
Some tips:
  • Avoid taking break during preparations (i did & suffered badly)
  • Choose the right mentor & materials very early in your journey (I wasted 2 months of my initial time with one training camp)
  • Make your own notes as you read through the materials; it was quite useful for me to revise before last few hours of the exam.
  • Focus on mindset; It is the key for success. The results can easily go the other way if we donot apply them.
Exam questions:
  • Over all I felt confident while answering most of the questions.
  • 4 to 5 questions on EVM; simple calculations needed. Go through all EAC formulas. I got one question which include CPI & SPI, but no calculation needed.
  • There were 4 to 5 drag & drop questions. One or two were related to behaviour type, which I could not even attempt. Did not come across those terms in any of the materials I read. So I did not bother spending time on that, rather just tested my luck.
  • Almost 80 percent of the questions were scenario based questions with majority from Agile method.
  • Overall my impression is that the exam questions were much more approachable than TIA simulator. In my opinion TIA questions were way too technical (eg. IT domain related etc.) and wordy compared to final exam questions. But it certainly helped me to get used to the mind set needed to tackle real exam questions.
  • Keep a close watch on the timer. It's quite important to manage your time to finish all the questions. I had to rush through few questions in 1st & 2nd section during my exam.
Finally, I celebrated this with my family, with a nice movie & dinner!馃槉
