Skool vs Discord
When I was planning the development of a community, I tried to put together a list of PROS and CONS for both platforms to make the right decision. I have always joined communities on Discord, and only in the last couple of months, I found out about Skool.
After some thought, I realized that it depends on the target audience of the creator and also on the functionalities of the community.
Discord:
  • Target audience: Younger people or tech-savvy, mainly males
  • Own voice and video channels (no need for Zoom)
  • More customizations
  • More possibilities to build unique functionalities
  • Takes more time to develop
  • Harder to navigate for members than Skool
Skool:
  • Target audience: Everyone
  • Own video archive
  • Gamification
  • Own calendar
  • Easy to set up
  • Less customization
  • Fewer possibilities to build unique functionalities
What do you think?
