Finding your element (Ken Robinson)
I think at times we may all feel the sense of "what the bloody hell am I meant to be doing?" I certainly have, and at times still do! I have found some comfort and direction in this book by the late Sir Ken Robinson, he was an extraordinary man, from Liverpool, hard upbringing, physically handicapped. But against these odds he succeeded, and has gone on, during his life, to inspire others.
In his book, Robinson argues that everyone has a unique set of talents and passions that, when combined, can lead to a life of fulfillment and satisfaction. He calls this place of intersection "your element."
Robinson believes that we are all born with certain talents and abilities, and that it is our job to discover and nurture these gifts. He also believes that we are all passionate about something, whether it is a hobby, a career, or a cause. When we can find a way to combine our talents and passions, we find our element.
Robinson's book is full of inspiring stories of people who have found their element. He also provides practical advice on how to find your own element, including exercises and tips for exploring your talents and passions.
If you are feeling lost or unfulfilled in your life, I encourage you to read "Finding Your Element." It is a book that can help you discover your true potential and live a life that is truly your own. My thoughts are that "your element" is not so much fixed, but overly changeable, as we journey through life we come across crossroads, and these intersections, our element my well change.
(look him up on YouTube, some of his TedTalks are funny as!)
